Is the Espadrille the new Ugg???

When people hear that I live in the Hamptons year round, the first thing they always say is "You Do!?", and then they ask about the weather, always about the weather, they seem to think it's so much colder here than the rest of Long Island or NYC in the winter. Yes last winter was rough, really rough, and winter usually has me bundled up with cabin fever dreaming of a tropical vacation, but winter so far has been kind. The temp this morning for my bus stop run was 53 degrees! At 7 am!
All of this crazy weather has my winter wardrobe all mixed up and while I should be thinking of snow boots and Uggs, I am kind of thinking that the espadrille may be the new Ugg...

Laced Up

So, I wore this great lace-up the back sweatshirt yesterday from Forever 21 it was $17.90, and so many people asked me about this sweatshirt! Just for a gauge I was wearing an extra small and it is currently only available in a large but the lace up trend is huge right now, so I've found a few more great lace up pieces some perfect for that warm winter vacation.

Morning Crush

I tend to get hooked on things. Currently I am hooked on this uneven hem look, of course I had to DIY a pair after seeing this post from HonestlyWTF. I cut this pair of Levi's, and love the exposed red stripe running through the seam,but if you are not a DIY-er I am currently crushing on this pair of Joe's, I am loving the diagonal cut on the hem it is so flattering, and this pair from Mother.

Denim Junkie:To Wash or Not to Wash...

I am one of those people, I wash my hair every day, yup everyday, yeah yeah yeah, it's not good for your hair, but it is for mine, and there is nothing I hate more than a dirty head. I only wear pj's once, my kids too only once, even on vacation if we go away for 7 days I pack 7 pairs of pj's for all of us, mental, maybe. My kids never wear a pair of jeans or sweatshirt more than once, into the wash they go everyday, a little mental yes I know...

But I digress
So here is my question, what do you do? Do you wash your jeans after every wear? I do, duh...
But according to the denim G-ds Levi's, you should stop washing your jeans. Not only does not washing your jeans gives you that perfect fit and that fading and whiskering that you are after but it is also about water conservation. If your jeans do need to be freshened up to get that hibachi smell out of your favorite jeans, pop them in the freezer overnight, yup the freezer, and if you do have to wash your jeans wash your them inside out in cold water and Hang dry, never put them in the dryer, I am totally guilty of drying my jeans, I'm thinking that maybe my New Year's resolution this year may be to stop washing my jeans

Excited & Proud

I'm so excited and proud!
Every since I started Effortless Everyday Style I always wanted to build a website. I downloaded every supposedly easy "do-it-yourself" website builder, but it was like another language to me. At 44 and a house to run and kids that need something every minute, loads of laundry to do and way too many bathrooms to clean, I couldn't seem get my 44 year old unfocas-able brain around these "easy" websites. I could have hired someone to build it for me, but A. I really wasn't looking to spend the money to do it and B. I was super determined to build and design it myself.
So this week I was beyond determined to get this done, with the encouragement and advice of my incredibly bright computer minded 11 year old, I locked myself in my room with my computer and I got to it. I ignored texts and calls and the laundry, and my carpal tunnel is fully flared up  but I've been in the zone and I am happy to share with you my baby effortlesseverydaystyle.com!
 It may not be the fanciest or perfect, it may be slightly glitchy, but then again so am I.
